Many years ago while doing a Prayer Station every Saturday in Flushing, a 13 year-old girl on a team that was serving with S.L.M. said, "God, I want just the perfect person that you give me to not only pray with, but to lead to you."

I remember it being a very hot day. Many people were prayed for, but she had had not yet encountered anyone. Her father was the pastor and leader of the team, and when he said it was time to go, she said, "Dad, I told the Lord I wouldn’t leave until I had the right person to pray with and lead him to Jesus, so I can’t leave yet."

So he gave it a few more minutes and still nothing, so she cried out one more time, "God, answer my cry in prayer. Bring that person!"

Just a few moments later, a man came up and she knew that he was the one. He was so ripe and ready. He received her prayer and accepted the Lord, and her faith was strengthened like nothing before that moment. 

Those are the kind of things that can happen when you’re available, desperate and dependent on the Lord.
